Both are liberal shit holes. Crime rates in DFW and S.Fl are about the same. So are voting patterns/habits. I have a cousin who lives in DFW area, and she hates it. She a Dem, also, if that tells you anything. The only reason why she won't move back to FL is because of her mom, my aunt.

If you want to move to FL, I suggest moving to Volusia County, FL, but work in Orlando, specifically, move to the DeLand area. It's quiet, not much crime, schools are good there, and housing is about the cheapest in the county there. I've lived in this are off and on for the last 18 yrs, since I got out the Navy. Moved around a little bit during that time, but this area always brought me back b cause if the people, the atmosphere, and the general based-ness of W.Volusia. Where I live, it's super quiet, except for the nightly firearms training my neighbors get up to. It's music to my ears and helps my kids feel safer knowing most of our neighbors are armed to the teeth and are willing to defend our area from the miscreants.

The wages are better in Volusia County, but the traffic sucks travelling to Orlando area for work, just not as bad as S.FL. The tax rates are better in Volusia County, the schools are better, housing prices cheaper, gas is cheaper, hell, everything's cheaper in Volusia County than any other Central FL county except maybe Lake County, and our politicians are mostly Conservatives, except for the school board, but that's gonna be changing come Nov.

I'm telling you, I grew up in Miami in the 70's and 80's. The liberalization of S.FL started then, migrating to the other most populated cities in this State.

FL is still, in my opinion, the BEST state in the Union to live in right now, but every major city and heavily populated county in this state is almost solidly liberal leaning. This includes Miami-Dade, Ft Lauderdale/Broward County, Palm Beach and PB County, Tampa/St Pete (Hillsborough/Pinellas), Jacksonville (Duval County), Tallahassee (St Leon), Orlando Metro area (Orange/Osceola/Seminole counties). These counties/cities have voted Dem for the last 25+ yrs.
