There are 2 trillion barrels of oil in the Colorado Rockies. Thats more oil than all the worlds proven reserves and all the oil ever used combined.
Lithium mining is the dirtiest mining in the world.
Batteries suck and will always suck for something like a car. They cost as much as a new vehicle when they need to be replaced in 2 or 3 years. They are unreliable in cold weather and I would hate to caught in a snow storm like recently happened in Virginia and DC and have my battery run dry. They are unrecyclable and toxic and require a tremendous amount of space to dispose of.
Wind and solar are just as stupid. And speaking of requiring a tremoendous amount of space to dispose of, those big turbines in wind farms have a useable life of around 20 years. Then what? There is almost no recyclable parts. They bury them in Texas, I think it is. Ive seen the pics. Miles long scar in the earth just for the carbon fiber plastic blades.
I saw a story about a school that bought a turbine to supply its power. It didnt even pay for itself before it died and the school is saddled with a ton of debt and hooked back up to the grid. In fact I dont believe any wind turbine has ever generated enough power to cover its cost. I dont have sauce on hand but look it up, there are tons of studies and stories on it.
Solar is hilariously unusable for anything larger than a lit sign in most of the world. The big solar farms in the desert that turn water into steam slaughter wildlife including endangered species. Greenies dont care though.
None of the green techs are really green. They are all scams. Until they let us use cold fusion (see Navy patents) we should be using what we have that is available and efficient, while we concentrate on mitigating deletrious effects.
