A&E is a paid service. There’s options to stream most anything today if you have an internet connection, TV, etc. That’s how I watched the first two episodes. Most everything I watch I stream free. If you have questions ask. What I take from this documentary. Hefner claims he wants to give females freedom to be what they want to be and lead their own lives. When in reality he wanted total control of all those women. In the doc some people praised him for different reasons. At a time of racial divide he brought blacks & whites together. He was invited to be involved with NAACP. The lady that was his photographer thought he did “no” wrong! So did others. Makes me wonder if they people defending him were involved with the bad things going on. One lady telling her story is the daughter of the doctor at the mansion. Her & her father lived there & by the time she was about 10-15 she started realizing it was more going on. She had her first plastic surgery at 15 or 17. Hefner had sex with her & her father didn’t mind. All the people talking has written books. The books interviews for books were stopped because Hefner had the power. I believe they are speaking out because he can’t touch them now. The end of first episode it said the Hefner family wasn’t affiliated with Playboy anymore. There’s a number and information for survivors. One person said he died one month before the Weinstein arrest. Implying what could have been.

About the documentary. I find it sickening the playboy mansion and lifestyle was considered normal for so long. Even for myself, I was duped! As a child in the 70s my dad had all the porn magazines in his closet. He thought they were hidden. Me & my brother were always looking at them. I actually recognized some other things of the women from the 70s. I was to young to be getting off when looking at the magazines but I thought it was normal. I remember a few times at the beach, a family member’s place we went to a lot, my brother was about four looking at the magazines and my dad laughing. Now, I had a pretty normal childhood. No abuse! My parents worked hard & I had anything I wanted. My dad did verbally abuse us & drank. I spent lots of time at my grandparents. I’m not making excuses I want to make it clear nothing happened to me, I’m female & lead a happy married life. Of course it could have turned out differently!
