Yeah. Agree with all points. My only add would be that let's face it, they're designed by engineers, but built by accountants. The engineers send the specs signed off, and then an entirely new engineering department goes through them with a fine-toothed comb to shave thousands of dollars off those specs. I think they all do it. Your example of the head bolts is a great example of them going to far, and shows how much power that stupid department likely has at Ford.
Rumour is they got their act together, but, I think only on certain models. Their F-150 line is doing interesting things, but, I'm a hauler.
That's why I'm not brand loyal to anything, anymore. During the lockdown I actually got a quote from my local RAM dealer for a 2020 3500 dually Limited edition for $88k CAD, loaded (even with adaptive cruise, a huge add for driving the truck), that's how starving they were for customers. It would be just sitting around right now, but, that's a good deal. Now, the chip shortage has blown that deal up. Too bad, kinda, not, I don't have car payments.
