Yes they absolutely are. Even if you devoted 100% of your time and effort into understanding the function of your computer you would only be capable of understanding a tiny fraction of what it does, and there are hard limits on what you can learn even if you try, such as the function of all internal logic processes, or how they interact with external hardware/software elsewhere in the Internet infrastructure.
