Democracies and Republics are voting systems.

Capitalism and communism are economic systems.

Christianity is a religion.

Which system does the tenet "Give away all your possessions and follow me." fall under? Serious question. Some would say Communism, but actually it's philosophical anarchy.

In any case, the Jesus of the Bible is communal and social in his message while representing the ultimate 'dictator'. A conflicting character.

Any attempt to find passages that might suggest his sway towards capitalism or democracy, will turn up only negative connotations, interestingly. Is the Christian Bible a diatribe against Capitalism? It would seem so under the context. Religious theocracy isn't democracy or capitalism per se. A resulting political monarchy would involve the same issues as Islam today: ie Bloodline vs. Belief as rulers.

The biblical (Roman/Julian) Jesus doesn't appear to be very political except to tell his followers to render unto Cesare, a conflicting message when heard by 'zealots' fighting a capitalist Roman Empire. One ear was lopped before an order given not to put up a fight.

Putin is comparing cultural excesses here...................he counters what he sees as hypocrisy in the history of the West. Making godly icons of humans in the name of.....any system.....is idol worship is it not? It would appear that Putin is suggesting that the goals of a communal Russia isn't that different from the Christian message. The Christian ideal is diluted by whatever stands in its place. The communal mind of christ is also diluted and bastardized by what stands in its place. Social co-operation is co-opted by those who would capitalize on the system's flaws.

What we get is a splitting of the baby, and two thieves on the cross..........the truth is, as always.........in the middle and apparently invisible.

It's all explained in the book called "Killing of the Messenger". aka The Bible

In any case, the Jesus of the Bible is communal-ist and social-ist in his message while representing the ultimate 'dictator'. A conflicting character.

Philosophical anarchy some might say.

In any case, the Jesus of the Bible is communal-ist and social-ist for sure. An attempting to find passages that might suggest his sway towards capitalism or democracy, will turn up only negative connotations. Interesting.
