BBNF u/Norman_F_Dixon in a DM once told me to watch the second V tv-series shows which I had never seen. finally got around to it, just (today) finished binge watching season 1 and 2... just a couple of comments from 40,000 feet .

season one and two of the tv series V view free here (with ads - short ones)

https://tubitv.com/series/3697/v?start=true

lead in to season 1 episode 1 / black screen

screen one / Where were you the day JFK was assassinated?

fade - screen two / Where were you on 9/11?

fade - screen three / Where were you this morning?

3 Nov 2009 day V premiered / 1st anniversary of Obama election.

in season 2 episode 2... during a scene when an apartment is searched and three books titles are "highlighted" by the camera work as the apartment is searched / Love and Death in the American Novel - Fiedler / The Art of War - Sun Tzu / Prelude to Terror - Helen MacInnes (she wrote a of books). this comes right after dialog repeating information that 17 people had just died in a bomb blast.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leslie_Fiedler

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helen_MacInnes

all of interest, however, Helen MacInnes born October 7, 1907 (husband was MI6)

this is kind of thing norman would dig out...October / month 10

10 + 7 = 17 // 1+9+7 = 17

the # of victims in the bombing dialog and book visuals occur within 30 seconds. I know it sounds weird to pick up on the 17 ref, but it was just there. i even stopped the video when these particular book covers were shown because it was so obvious a set up to make a point (one of the searchers pockets the well read copy of Sun Tzu). norman always would deep dive stuff like this so I will get the MacInnes and Fiedler books.

norman also told me to read all the books by A. J. Tata (Gen Ret). Tata was one of the guys with Patel and Miller who were appointed during the last few weeks of the Trump administration to sensitive positions in the Dept of Defense (covert operations)... Tata started writing books in 2015 (and co-authoring as well with one of top U.S. snipers)... not possible to summarize 10+ books... but it is very much like watching the V series... very closely tracking events... in advance of events... not to speculate. norman said he got the idea to research Tata from patelpatriot's devolution series. if you've read norman's comment history you know he has pulled 17s out of a number of films... some from way back... the Evergreen and 17 phone number from The Manchurian Candidate is the weirdest one for me.

here is link to wiki episodes synopsis. Check out season 2 episode 10 synopsis. not really of any use except the one for season 2 episode 10 - spoiler alert

"Erica finds Hobbes is missing, but is then kidnapped and taken to a secret underground bunker a mile underneath Manhattan. The huge bunker houses Project Aries, a secret cabal of top ranking global military and government officials (including Erica's FBI boss Paul, and new partner Chris) who have long suspected the Visitors' real intentions and are preparing for a war with them."

what would have come out in season three (obvious from the Hobbes plot line (he is supposed to be a mercenary but is always meeting up with a woman [never identified by name or organization] who gives him dossiers on people and telling him what to do) was that the Hobbes guy Erica finds missing was a Project Aries double sometimes triple agent and part of his mission was to observe Erica for possible recruitment into Project Aires.

i imagine watching the series now is not like watching in 2009 and 2010 - only ran the two seasons - then cancelled.

this commentary from main wiki article is interesting

The re-imagined series has been interpreted by some reviewers as an allegory of the presidency of Barack Obama.[29][30][31] In his review of the show, Troy Patterson of Slate points out that bloggers and journalists had noticed parallels between the show's premise and the Obama administration, and writes that "if the show is to have the symbolic import that we expect from a science-fiction story, this is the only possible way to read V as a coherent text. The only problem with this analysis lies in its generous presupposition that the text is, in fact, coherent."[29] Lisa de Moraes of The Washington Post noted in her review that the fact the series was debuting on the first anniversary of Obama's election "was not lost on some ... TV critics" and also remarked that the use of phrases present in the series (such as "hope", "change", and "Universal Health Care" being offered by the Visitors) made it seem as though "Lou Dobbs had taken over the network, as those things only became popular with the current administration."[30] Chicago Tribune reviewer Glenn Garvin called the show "controversial", saying the series was "a barbed commentary on Obamamania that will infuriate the president's supporters and delight his detractors.

might be worth checking out the series... definitely leaves a different impression today than i imagine it did in 2009/10.
