Take it from me. Once someone loses one of their senses (or whatever that makes them feel "normal") they have taken one step out of the lower physical realm and into the fullness of Creation.

I don't know her exact state, or if malicious actors are to blame for her condition, but I can assure you that she received this gift for what was taken in order to balance the scales where the justice of Man fails.
I know this state. This name I chose isn't just a reference to the Great Awakening. The meningitis vaccine in 2006 was the likely cause of my narcolepsy. I sometimes dream when awake. I can feel a "disturbance in the force" when I'm dreaming, and it is not pleasant. When I close my eyes I see grid patterns, sparks, lightning, and balls of light in all sorts of colors. I can even see UV light as its own color, to some degree. Its a unique color I cannot find anywhere else except maybe my dreams. It's as if purple and yellow vibrated with a bright sheen like the inside of a clam shell.
This color scheme is close, but nothing matches it completely.
My point is, that the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. The opposite is also true, in that when something is taken, God fill the void with opportunity.
If we were all perfectly perfect beings, and knew how to make everything perfectly, we would have no reason to make anything other than the same old perfectly boring things. Limitations are what give us character, interest, individuality, and ultimately permits us to Create the person we want to be. Our mortality, something Angels and Demons lack, is actually the greatest strength we have and is what gives us Authority inherited from God. Without mortality, sacrifice is meaningless.
But through sacrifice, we become closer to God. This is why some angels rebelled, because they rejected the idea that their "lessers" would be so close to God as to even share the Throne with Him in Christ.
