I don't personally assign to this story a competely factual accounting of our ancient history, but I did find it an interesting exercise in thinking through how magnetic pole shifts ( and more importantly rotational axis pole shifts that may accompany a magnetic reversal if the correct solar conditions occur and interact with the low velocity zone just below the crust / bedrock) should impact everything on the planet.
Also for more information, I highly recommend this movie (below link) that brings a lot of the currently understood science together on this subject. If you get really interested the channel had playlists from 2019 and 2020 which may discuss some aspects slightly differently from the movie.
