If you'd like to see how deep it is, (Maestro?)......bone up on music theory as it relates to Divine Ratios as demonstrated by Pythagoras on the Monochord.

I used his demonstration to blow a hole in and cause a change in something called the String Theory. They still haven't gotten it right. The reason it happened is because the head of the team happened to be a musician in school and could understand the musical/math concepts. Still, they got it wrong in the end. Having preferance for math instead of harmony behind it.

Why it's call Music of the Spheres, and why it was said that the Universe was 'sang into existence'.

It is deeper than you know. This should help.

I think my comment was supposed to show how rap has been in existence from day 1 and is not only used in the church, but has its roots there, regardless of one's opinion of it as a musical genre.

Preference can't be avoided. That's understood by everyone. Myself, I prefer it to have quality period. Then I'll accept. I'm not a huge country music fan, but a big fan of some of them. Hank, Patsy, etc, the ones who's 'quality' is hard to question.

To exclude everything but a preferred style is a prejudice, warranted or not. it's hard to fathom the meaning/purpose of today's 'age bigot' as I call them, because I think it's a created prejudice. Like the hands of a clock though, there is always a counter-movement of synthesis.

There is so much crossover going on now and missed in the past by most, that to create music that fits a genre would be considered retro music now.

I enjoy everything from primitive music to progressive/experimental.

I too, grew up listening to Jimi Hendrix and can play in that style to where it might be tough for most to tell the difference. Lots of people pretend that. I also had the pleasure of jamming with Billy Cox, the bassist in Hendrix's Band of Gypsies and have pics. I learned to appreciate all music and even sounds that are musical. I quit trying to sound like someone else and now have my own style.

To quote Hendrix, "To pick out a favorite music to me is like picking a favorite wave in the ocean, it doesn't make sense in the bigger picture."

Music runs the universe if understood for what it truly is. Harmony of organized frequencies. What all things are. It is exactly that deep and more. So you're not hitting the right note for the song I'm singing, but that's something being improved upon by the current and coming generations. They are opening up their ears. The Great Awakening's light will fill the whole room eventually. Hopium

Nothing wrong with preference. That's understood by everyone. Myself, I don't prefer any specific, just quality and that's also subjective to a point. 'Back in the day most people were music bigots. Not me. I enjoy everything from primitive music to progressive/experimental. It's all about the quality and that's often subjective.
