His remarks are off... there is some kind of messaging there.

President Trump flew on Marine 1 to Walter Reed on 02 October 2020 after announcing via tweet at approximately 1:00 AM that morning (02 October) that he had contracted the virus and would be going to the hospital for a 10 day quarantine the next day. Trump released a video made sometime late 01 October, detailing that he had found out he had the virus late in the afternoon on 01 October, and speculation was that it was probably picked up from Hope Hicks who had tested positive just a few hours earlier. Could not locate the 01 October video but news report below confirm time line. Caught the rona on the 1st... flew to Walter Reed Hospital on the 2nd of October. (Norman copy / paste)

1 October 2020 was the day that President Trump was going into quarantine for 10 days for Covid (stayed from 02 Oct in the AM to just before 1900 on 05 Oct). The report was he had been exposed earlier that afternoon by one of the staff (2105 Universal Time would have been 1715 Washington time).
It could also have been the time by which the President released his prerecorded video for the Al Smith Dinner which was "virtual" last year but still broadcast live.
It was announced Monday, 28 September, it would not be held on its usual date (third Thursday in October), that it would be held virtually (prerecorded speeches from the president and Joe Biden) and broadcast live (the hosts anyway) at 1900 on 1 October 2020 (and was).

There is a "lost" video that was recorded late that night, 1 October, 2100-2200 time frame, a short 2 to 3 minute video of Trump just confirming the report from earlier that afternoon that he had been diagnosed with COVID (Hope Hicks also was reported to have tested positive and rumor was that Trump was exposed via HH)... it was released just prior to his departure for the hospital the next morning.
