Seasonal allergies? I've had the coof twice (first time felt like I was drowning and had severe vertigo; second time lost the ability to smell or taste) But I'm currently going through bad seasonal allergies and my asthma inhaler is always at the ready. My cough is at its worst in the morning and at night (I brought out my air cleaner and have been running it all night long and I usually don't have to do that until late May.)
Try some allergy relief medicines and see if that helps. Hopefully it's as simple as allergies. The fatigue and general sense of malaise could just be from the body going to war with the allergens. But keep up with the vitamin C and D, zinc, and get quercetin if you can (it helps the zinc absorbtion). Prayers for you and your hubby.
ETA: Get some Q Spectacular Tonic Water. It has quinine in it. Target sells it in store.
