As DecodingSymbols states, assume science discoveries are legitimate at face value when it's impossible to validate otherwise.
Are particle physics even scientifically accurate though?
Protons, Electrons, Neutrons, Muons, Top and Bottom Quarks. I believe they are legitimate at face value. The date and story of their "official discovery", completely up to Comms.
That being said, there are scientific statements that are patently false. As the claim that black holes exist in every galaxy around the 90s, as DecodingSymbols has correlats to all News Media outlets being hush hush about the Monica Lewinsky scandal. It is painful to see SuspiciousObservers, a genius in his own right, get frustrated at academics when he is in reality clashing against Comms.

Blackholes in every galaxy = all news outlets are aware but choosing to not run it. This is why Drudge, an unknown at the time, broke it!
