I’ve lived between both and have seen it get worse over the decades. It’s worse now than it ever was. When I was a kid my city was not that bad. Most people were still working and living in the city but would travel out to the country to play. But major demographic and economic shifts have changed the culture. Cities are absolute basket cases now. Doesn’t matter what race, religion, etc. 90% of urban dwellers are total degen assholes. Only reason I bought a house here was it was all I could afford and I had to get out of renting. A 2600 sq ft house for 80k is unbeatable. I have the space and privacy to where the city doesn’t bother me until I leave my house. But holy fuck it is unreal at this point how fucked cities and urbanites are. Thing is suburbanites are getting more urbanized too. When I leave here I am going deeeeep country to get as far the fuck away from anyone not country. It really is living in hell. Just going grocery shopping is fucked up. Most people I meet are not my people. I feel very isolated surrounded by this shit. People have no idea how bad it really is until you’re actually in it. Everywhere you go is a bum, a crackhead, a drug dealer, a hooker, some foreigner that hates you, mentally ill people everywhere, alcoholic cokeheads and liberal occultists being obnoxious dbags all the time. Total lawlessness since the police got taken down. We have gangs of kids on 4-wheelers and dirtbikes everywhere at all hours. Your house is getting cased all the time. Actual crazy people all over. You cannot reason with the bureaucracy, normies or anyone. Most people are fucking narcissists if they have their shot together here. It’s fucking third world. The world we were born into no longer exists. It has even bled out into rural areas. The drugs all come from cities. Tons of rural kids imitate urban culture and lifestyle and their parents are naive about what that influence really is. Lots of their school teachers are urbanized people. Rural people need to throw away their TVs, batten down the hatches and get back to living country and not just living in the country. I cannot wait until I can get a chunk of land, buy some animals and get the fuck away from all this bullshit.
