TY Fren. Keeping shit to myself has never been my strong suit, too late to stop now.

Humanity, our humanity is under siege and appears to have been for quite some time. My greatest disappointment is how utterly easy it seems to be to destroy a society. Appeal to the basest of human frailties, divide and conquer, create differences where none existed, feed peoples boogie men. A few crates of liquor, some rifles, and a few smallpox blankets is all it takes.

Reconciliation seems like a Herculean task right now. Like Twitter bots, my hope is that our oppo is much smaller than we have been led to believe. As with most struggles, once the battle is all but won, we will see the multitude of Summer Soldiers and Sunshine Patriots rally to our banner.

Let's face it, people are not that courageous and naturally gravitate to the safety and cover of the crowd. Human shields, if you will. We celebrate our heroes not because they are common. I have learned not to expect too much of my fellow man, and endeavor to be more tolerant, so long as they do not endanger me. It is a daily challenge. The Deer needs the Wolf and vice-versa, though neither seems acutely aware of it.

In a strange way, I like this chaos, this existential peril. It is only in such times that our mettle is tested. Like the crucible, hellish conditions separate the impurities and refine the ultimate product. Who resisted when it was unpopular? Who did not comply when it was costly? Who spoke up, when others remained silent? Those are the men I wish to stand amongst. Be well brother.
