I am not into anime, but it appears there is soft disclosure in all forms of media during certain time periods including cartoons (also see Robotech: looks like Secret Space Program partial disclosure to me), movies, music, and video games. Lots in the music from 1981-1984 (see The Police album covers, Journey album covers during that period).

The whole "animus" and "avatar" themes are repeated because this is likely the truth about how our consciousness/spirit interacts with our "meat sack" or physical body. Except as far as I know we cannot move out and then back in on a whim, and if we move out it takes a while to come back (possibly 800 years or more).
