My 18 year old daughter had covid in October. In January everything started tasting bad (chemicals and smelling like garbage kind if bad)its parosmia. She lost 20 lb in the first month. She was eating bread and ice cream and was severely depressed. Couldn't be around the scent of food at all. Took her to an ENT. And we tried Flonase (steroids) she was able to eat berries and some sweet stuff again but her smell didn't change. He has now started her on theophylline a nasal spray. In the last 2 weeks we've see her add several foods and we are very hopeful. Still no meat, but we think its been helpful. The ENT said this is was a last try and there wasn't anything else.its a nightmare. I am so sorry for you and your daughter. Its been 6 months for us. Nerves take a LONG time to regenerate. Here's an article about it https://blog.fauquierent.net/2016/09/treatment-for-loss-of-smell-and-taste.html?m=1
