This condition has been known to occur especially under certain circumstances yet they still use it. It is especially common among babies born with a heart defect. They know this yet they refuse to allow these babies breast milk. I actually know of a baby this has happened to. The baby was born with a heart defect so they refused to allow the mother to breastfeed even though the baby was strong enough to be able to. They knew before the baby was born that it would need two heart surgeries. Now this poor baby has had to suffer through additional surgeries due to the baby formula with more surgeries to come. It really disturbs me that this precious baby has so much needless suffering brought upon it.

Edited to add that this has nothing to do with the recall. There are only certain formulas that cause this condition. They know which ones they are and still use them.
