I think it’s arguable that pizza gate and other “conspiracies” were considered stupidity as well.

If we only share when we think it won’t brand us a tin foil loon, we may as well just wait for cable news to tell us what to think.

That doesn’t mean exercising zero discernment. But I think we can all agree that most of what’s turned out to be true were once considered far reaching, stupid conspiracy theories - and remain that way for the perpetually brainwashed sleeping masses.
