Better to say "They corrupt religion to control you" (Islamic "extremism" and pedo priests etc) They have been trying to infiltrate their demons into religion for ages, and often succeed. They want to eliminate religious morality. He is dead-wrong to attack religion, and really needs to think it over.

EDIT: Correction above, plus: I should say that I am not defending corrupted religious dogma here, but true faith, the real God, the creative principle or whatever you want to call that elusive force for good and love, the Holy spirit etc etc. Personally I do not even attend churches or a congregation, I find them dreary at best, or demonic at worst. What I have I do call "religion", but it is not a thing outside of me, conducted by others. I make up my own mind, drawing from any source and all sources. God is real. There are demons out there. They want the armour of God off your back, they want your shield out of reach and your sword blunted. And rubbishing "Religion" can achieve this and leave people defenceless, and open to the demons out there.
