Any power that evil invests in such symbols is power generated by their evil intent and by compliance or implied consent given by the unwilling. When you align with the Creator and invest your attention and energy in that, that effort opens the way for true power to dissolve the power evil seeks to create.

I guess my view is that the entire miasma of occultic practices have 'so much power' because it's given over to them. In other words, focusing on them too much increases their power, instead of diminishing it. The same could be said for ascribing that power and intent in cases when in fact, it may not actually exist. (i.e. seeing every 5 sided-star as a symbol of evil occult practice instead of recognizing that sometimes, it's just not so.)

I don't indulge in such explorations too much for such a reason. Much, much better to identify how and where God is working, and focus on that.
