Just now checking my email this morning and I see a reply from my local consumer protection at 7:39, just below it at 4:39 is a reply from Venmo saying they'd verified my account and was now unfrozen!
Yeah, I'd like to say what coincidental timing, but not believing in coincidences anymore it would have to be heavy with sarcasm! Now to add banking info quick and get it out of there...
Edit: I can't enter either my bank account or debit card info, get some internal error warning.
Edit 2: I replied to the CPA that while the account was unfrozen I couldn't add an account to withdraw funds to so money was still essentially with held. She replied lickety split, even called, while I was replying to Venmo, so she said to send it to her and she would send it along to them. So I'm partially there! But honestly, I bank with a small credit union, many places I've found I can't add my bank account to but my debit card usually works.
