The church knows that it doesn't want to be LGBTetc. It's a small entrenched minority that is flaunting their disrespect of the laity and the council. Now that minority is trying to force a schism in their favor by sheer obnoxiousness when the bylaws are against them. It's like going into a room and farting so bad to make the true owners want to leave, even while the cops are on their way to kick the intruders out for trespassing.
