She is not the same person at all

Trying not to offend or cross any lines here, but I gotta ask: Do you think it's her that changed, or you that changed?

My gut wants to say both, just because: everybody changes, it's easier to spot in others, it's harder to spot in oneself.

That said -- I hope things smooth over one day with the sister and her family, however, whenever. I'll be rooting for ya :)
