Ok, since the plan encourages critical thinking let me poke a needle in this balloon. I'm just not on board with this sentiment. How can anyone make decisions and evaluations based on another man's public posture and attitude?

100% I advise you to ignore Trump's manner and personality in all this. Keep in mind that he was a pupil of Norm Vincent Peale's "Power of Positive Thinking" pseudo spiritual pop psychology... the main problem with that system is it encourages magical thinking. Another problem is it enables people with NPD to filter out negative feedback loops in their lives, including objective downstream consequences of poor decision making. There is no place for regrets or apologies.

If your "beliefs" are derivative of his "beliefs", that's just second order magical thinking isn't it? Why is this virtuous?

If Trump "believes" he's in no real danger, does that necessarily imply he shouldn't be realistic about real danger?
