Keep in mind that he was a pupil of Norm Vincent Peale's "Power of Positive Thinking" pseudo spiritual pop psychology... the main problem with that system is it encourages magical thinking. Another problem is it enables people with NPD to filter out negative feedback loops in their lives, including objective downstream consequences of poor decision making. There is no place for regrets or apologies.
