True that having an education didn't help people with discernment over what's happening, but the bigger issue is the gilded cage we've been living in. So many people are happy to not ask questions about things at all, which many friends have explicitly told me

Some of the uneducated ones get a taste when they land well paying jobs in government or wherever and start to feel superior. One guy I know went from burger king to government paper pusher. Always asks me loaded questions about the politics going on, while clearly thinking himself to be smart by siding with the mainstream view
