Makes me laugh, is the episode when they film the tv show as a cover for their ops.. How's that for layers?

A tv series documenting secret real-world operations being exposed in a joint USA/CAN tv production that can't be taken seriously by John Q. Public (mostly bc of Richard Dean Anderson's aversion to Kurt Russell's version of O'Neill - my preferred version btw), that then in the show their ops begin to become public so they make an even less credible in-show tv series to distract and trick people into thinking it would be impossible to have such things be reality...
