The original famine was actually caused by bad weather, then made much worse by literal German Nazis using Ukrainian rebel nationalists to attempt to shatter the Soviet Union by starving it's core Russian state ahead of Hitler's invasion. The Nazis encouraged Ukraine faers to stop sending any food at all back to Russia in attempt to starve as many Russians as possible besause Russia and was the USSRs industrial and educated base.

So Stalin sent the Red Army to Ukraine, took all the food back to Russia, and punished rebelling Ukraine farmers by leaving them nothing so they staved to death by the millions.

Completely asshole move, but not quite the same as today. Modern globalists are even worse because they are fucking over farmers unprevoked for personal profits.

The Nazis that want to Ukraine then, are the root of the persistent nazi problem modern Ukraine has today as well.
