I bet the comments are blaming the girl for being "disgusted or pity", when in reality that's the OP (of that thread) projecting.

More than likely, even if they manage to pass as a dude, the girl just wasn't interested.

Turns out being the opposite sex isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Guys are treated as expendable, used and tossed away like last night's trash. This is the messaging of the last 15 years, and you get to taste the results.

We have to fight pretty hard for a good woman's interest now, both because of the advances in technology and changes in culture. They're not going to accept for just anyone; if you don't have what they're looking for, they probably won't even give you the time of day.

I, on the other hand, do feel pity for this person. They were misguided and misled, drawn in by a predatory people on a false basis of inclusivity, with pro-alphabet soup propaganda everywhere they looked.

Interestingly, women seem to be bisexual at a much greater rate than men. It's possible she would have gotten that date if she were a woman, instead of a woman trying to be something she's not.
