Lots of thoughts I could share on the topic of pet healthcare. Per my husband, my MIL didn't take their indoor cats to vets for anything beyond the basics throughout his childhood (due to finances) and the cats all had long lives (15-20 years). We have followed a similar path w/our cats with similar results. We read an interesting article from a holistic Vet re: all the very random particulars that have to occur for a dog to get Heartworm; yet every vet we've had for our family dogs has heavily pushed this med. 💲💲💲for meds...as with humans, so with pets.
