This has been going on a long time in my experience, any normie who leans even slightly left has latched onto the "qanon are crazy lunatic people" angle. It seems you think this means they are open to these topics but i think it's the complete opposite, they are becoming even more radicalized against us. People that i know that were barely political at all but leaned slightly left a few years ago are now getting fully on board with full blown socialism.

The important thing to keep in mind is that many of these types of people have no belief in God, they don't see good and evil the way we do and they believe their entire existence ends with death. I think many wouldn't care one bit if Democrats were raping children at comet pizza because their sense of morality centers only on themselves. They may feel bad about doing bad things to other people themselves but because they lack any belief in God and the afterlife they don't care what other people do to each other (kind of a complex topic but trying to explain the way i see it succinctly).
