Judge them by their actions. I don't listen to Taylor Swift anymore. She is socially divisive and an active tool of the left.
Rihanna for example, is also very outward about her politics

However, her influence is limited. She rarely records new music, she's not in any movies, she mostly sticks to herself and markets her lingerie/clothing line and profits off her royalties
So I don't mind listening to her on occasion, because she's at this point a has been and listening to Umbrella is as benign as listening to Rock You Like a Hurricane or Minnie the Moocher
I'd look at this way. The majority of commetcial music recorded "for the Lord" is sheer garbage. It's salting the salt. It's tepid and uninspired. I can name a few truly good Christian songs, yes, they're out there.
I hard it incredibly hard to believe that truly beautiful, artistic music is a sin. That something like https://youtu.be/tZR20RJcY4w is sending me to hell and I should instead listen to https://youtu.be/1thVi6T9rEo The Corinne song purely and accurately represents the sanctity and intimacy of my marriage whereas the St James song is a joke of a pop song written to push abstinence.
If all Christian music was this...I would get it
But it's not...so do yourself a favor and in the words of Rihanna "Please don't stop the music!"
