For us our enlightened government told us (there) not to interfere with their "culture", while they told the people (not there) how evil the Taliban was to prevent women from voting and going to school. They shit in buckets and played hopscotch in minefields and powerful men raped kids and laughed openly about it. Voting and school was the least of their problems. To the Afghanis, protecting their children from monsters was what mattered.They had their great awakening way before us and we were sent there to snuff it out.
