Because things like facts and logic and being reasonable human beings are important. Nowhere, absolutely, NO WHERE did the author of that tweet nor I claimed that a lockdown didn't happen.

You want to live in a make believe land where you can indulge all your feels and get your mad on.

This is what turns normies off.

The only thing the writer of the tweet in the OP says is that his students are writing, and believing, that we weren't allowed to leave our homes due to government mandates.

And that this is factually false.

That's it. And because I point out that what he states in his tweet is a fact, I've been painted as a villain along with him.

No where does he claim lockdowns didn't happen or if he agreed with the measures taken by officials, and neither did I.

People are just making up things and claiming he supports them or said them. We have people claiming he's a communist and a pedophile and fundamentally evil because he made a factual statement.

People have jumped on this one factual comment this man wrote and rode his train straight into Crazy Town.

Caring about facts, and being a calm, rational person shouldn't be a bad thing, but obviously many people here think they are.

Just step back for a minute, take a breath, and look at it from an objective standpoint. Actually read what is being said without loading all your preconceived ideas onto it.

I'm not your enemy simply because I take a different view than you do.

But there is an overwhelming attitude here that if someone doesn't agree with you 100% about everything, then they are evil, or shills, or whatever. Obviously the desire to have an echo chamber rules supreme.

And that's a messed up attitude to have.
