Hitler came to power and reversed the decline. He wanted to make Germany great again and he did. The French complained about not receiving their reparations on time and promised to invade. Poland did not like the Germans there and tortured and killed them. (Ukraine parallel?) Hitler said they should stop but they refused thinking that Germany was now powerless because it had been forbidden from having an army and developing weapons. How wrong can you be? Germany invaded Poland and then WW2 ensued.
