From my sister:
There are so many. Here are a few.
Ps. 46:1. God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
Prov. 3:5-6. 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Rom. 8:28. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Isaiah chapter 43:11-13 11 I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior. 12 I have revealed and saved and proclaimed— I, and not some foreign god among you. You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “that I am God. 13 Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?”
Remember God has a plan. He sets up kings. Nothing can be done without God allowing it to be. Sometimes what happens is because prophecy is being fulfilled. Also, the dedicated Christian is always blessed, even in famine, captivity and trouble. Think of Joseph, Daniel the three Hebrew boys in the fire. God is in control!
