I don't disagree with the general sentiment here. Christ helps us avoid the emotions (spiritual influences) that hamper our chances of attaining the eternal. He helps us overcome our worldly programming that we share with animals. Our emotions and feelings (spiritual influences) who control us. Fear, hunger, pride, shame (inverse pride), etc, stand in the way of our freedom. They exist to control us. They keep us in a cycle, keep playing hot potato with us, passing us from one emotional state to another, from pain to pleasure and back again, in a vortex toward the Earth.

Metaphorically, Christ gives us the ability to not touch a hot stove without ceding control to the fear of being burned. We punish ourselves with shame after we've erred, subconsciously justifying this as something we deserve, that we need. We allow Shame to come into us, as we go into Shame, because we think it's what's needed in order to avoid repeating the mistake.

Christ became sin (your error, the vector separating you from the I AM), overcame Fear and Shame (the experience of that separation), giving us the option to choose him instead of them. Just like the I AM, Christ is now within us. He became part of humanity in order to save us from the spirits we give ourselves over to under duress. He is always connected to the I AM, your I AM, even as we spin away from from God and from ourselves, and therefore our connection is always maintained.

Just LARP it, no need to trust me. Next time you're feeling anything that is separating you from the I AM, think about how Christ became that separation. The separation is now your return path. Now we can assert our freedom over the spirits of punishment (or reward) that keep us aiming too low (or high). He overcame them, enveloped them, so that you need not give yourself over to them. Now instead of being guided by pain & pleasure, shame & pride, etc., you can freely (and only through freedom) choose Truth & Love, thus remaining connected to your I AM.
