I would just like to say that I concur with what you are saying. One of the most brilliant Bible scholars I know also concurs. I believe Daniel needs to be read and understood alongside Revelation because it does give a timeline. We can argue all day about eschatological issues, but everyone agrees that God's timing is His own and there will be signs, but how we read those signs will determine what we believe.

The most important things for Christians are what you stated...separate, sanctify, watch, and repent and as a Christian these are the things we need to focus on. Everyone certainly has a right to express their own opinion on interpretation of the scripture, but division is a tool of satan.

The idea that we can use scripture to interpret other scripture is a common theme throughout Hermeneutics. From the perspective of Sola Scriptura, it is, by itself, a hermeneutic principle. Ultimately, it is simply the idea that we can use scripture to shed light on other passages within the Bible. So, we just need to be diligent and prayful, because Jesus will come like a thief in the night and the biggest issue for the Christian is not when he comes so much as will we be ready. God bless you; I enjoy your thoughts.
