Take mental illness, for example, and it's prevalence amongst liberals. In my social circles, a sizeable majority of the leftists I know are all hopped up on psyche meds and have been for years. It seems the more rabidly leftist they are, the more enmeshed in that web of psychiatry-controlled existence - drugging themselves and their children, regular meetings with their psychiatrist - and yet they rarely seem to overcome many of their impediments. I'm sure there are chemical imbalances that can be mitigated with proper drug regimens, but I'm wondering if a large portion of that mental health industry isn't (deliberately) geared towards keeping their patients ill. Kind of like bad pharma is with physical ailments. It's an inherent conflict of interest - a cured/healthy patient is a former patient.
