Not sue why I got downvoted. Let me explain. If you pull a trigger but there is no bullet in the chamber, it won't fire. These injections are the bullets in the chamber, and that hit was the trigger being pulled. A hair trigger. Dude would have collapsed soon anyway, sadly.
