It is NOT just Tractor Supply feed. I had the same issue and my chickens were not eating anything from Tractor Supply. Our feed was from Rural King and it was a high protein layer feed. Other people I've seen posting have cited other brands. We got our hens laying again by replacing most of the feed with a good scratch grains mix. I've read that Mike Adams is testing Tractor Supply feed. That's not going to fix the issue if this is several brands. Here's what I think is going on. The Gate Pundit story about TS feed claimed there was a problem with the protein content being lowered. Remember all the stories about people's dogs dying and getting sick because the Chinese were mixing melamine powder in the dogfood? They were doing that to fake the amount of protein in the feed. I think they're doing the same thing to chicken feed. Just because they have a number on the bag doesn't mean any of those nutrition numbers are real. Editing to add this - scratch has far less protein than layer feed and they started laying again immediately and were obviously feeling better. That's what made me think the protein might be drastically lower than claimed in the layer feed.
