Ive read this speech several hundred times (I have the last paragraph memorized) and every time I do, I get a tear in my eye. This speech more than any other, in my opinion, embodies the American Spirit. An American Crises, The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution and this speech are the most essential documents of the Revolution to be familiar with.

When I read it I am reminded that if the cost of freedom for future generations is my life, I will gladly do my duty.
