Nobody would have stayed willingly locked down for years, this never made sense to me. If anything this scenario would have been the precipice, and everyone would have United against the lockdowns. Not that I discredit that whole theory, but nobody where I lived would have just stayed locked down, nobody listened to the initial lockdowns here and I doubt they would have started after years of it.
