I researched all the expected injections beforehand and discussed with my spouse what we were and weren't comfortable with. I think hepatitis B and Vitamin K were the only injections on offer. The nurses came in with consent forms and a full briefing on what was on offer (including side effects). If you didn't want anything from the menu, you just said no and don't sign anything.
