To the first, I think there was an algorithm to win elections 51-49%, and the machines were used to hunt out the votes that were non-existent to make up the missing votes. For example, people that did not live in certain addresses (phantom votes). This leads to the voter-rolls being bloated, to facilitate that. So, the votes were not flipped, but the ballot boxes were effectively stuffed.
To the second, yes - Fox was too quick in assuming the whole story was bogus. Perhaps there was no conspiracy with the Leonardo satellite/Munich or whatever. We haven't seen any information to the contrary, however. It's just that the foreign interference angle is too fantastical for most people. We shall probably never know, as such interference would trigger unrest in the world, where some others do not want it. USA is happy to de-stabilize Russia and China now, but Italy maybe not so much. At the time, China was not in the firing line, either, even if some people found evidence of servers being very active over there. We just don't know.
The time between Nov 4 and Jan 6 was extremely compressed, not only because it took so long to count the votes. To find out what actually transpired took a lot longer than what the founding fathers envisioned. What happened was that the fraud was not able to be positively proven before Jan 6. After that date, we were faced with a fait accompli.
I don't think Fox were justified to paint Guiliani and Powell as unhinged and drug addled. They fell for the smearing rather quickly and gladly. Guiliani especially is very well respected in the R voter base, because he managed to take on the Mob in NYC, and stood firmly, as mayor of NYC through the 9/11 crisis. He has a logical, lawyerly mind, and would not make accusations unless he has proof. Neither would Powell for that matter. Perhaps Fox should have listened to them TBH. I wonder if there was some glowing pressure.
