Congressional Committees are under oath and can be held in contempt of Congress for lying. Again it’s all on legal record to We The People, and they can be charged if other members of Congress investigate them. Congress people that get caught and may face an investigation or charges usually resign or file to retire, thus many times avoiding charges from any “investigation”. This is why it is rare for us common folk to hear about “them” getting busted or in trouble. Resigning or retiring is their “get out of jail free card”. Kinda like, oh well they’re gone/not working here further, so nothing we can do now. And yes this is why they many times basically get away with murder. Because their feet aren’t held to the fire if they duck out and enjoy their fat tax payer supplied pension.
