Not really, no. The shit you slap popcorn with does make you fat, on the other hand - tons of butter, cheese, caramel, whatever it is, THAT is what makes you fat.
But plain popcorn is actually a solidly good source of fibers, if nothing else.
And I do mean "plain" popcorn (i.e. without salt), as salt makes you thirsty which probably leads into drinking stupidly sugary soda which is a no-no if you're into healthy habits. A little salt is ok though if you don't overdo it. You could always substitute the sugary soda for some fresh juice which is always good (I do prefer the standalone popcorn though).
And no, popcorn without salt doesn't taste bland. It tastes like popcorn (duh). People are too addicted to salt nowadays which skews their taste. You gotta build up a habit of eating less salt then you get used to it and you won't stand the stupid amount of salt you were eating before.
