One theory you should look at is that Antarctica primarily exists in the media for comms. If you think about it, scientifically Greenland is just as remote and interesting as Antarctica and much more accessible in theory, so it should have more studies, research and press coverage, and yet Antarctica is mentioned at least 10x as often! The difference is that Antarctica is useful as a communications device, similar to the Loch Ness Monster. There are many things about Antarctica that don't make sense: international treaty never broken or even in dispute for 80+ years; nobody normal allowed to travel there; no air travel allowed; main place for visitors is called Deception Island; other named locations are suspect (e.g., Rothschild Island). Add to that your own knowledge of how the reported weather and its effects are false.

Here is a link to someone I follow, who presents the theory well, along with how it evolved to be that way.

https://decodingsymbols.wordpress.com/2021/08/14/asteroids-and-comets/ The blog post is pretty long--- Just ctrl+f "Antarctica" to get right to the relevant section.

And here is the same author's dissection of Nessie, which is easier to digest because Nessie, who once may have been a very plausible story, has long passed over into incredulity: https://decodingsymbols.wordpress.com/2021/03/07/loch-lock-ness-monster/
