This sounds like a lucid dream which allows for you to progress through spiritual and emotional matters much faster. They can be completely terrifying, but once the lesson is learned, or embodied, you'll be done with that one... but not necessarily done done. It's a lifelong battle, but being able to lucid dream through it puts you on a much more secure path and a better foundation.
I've experienced many attacks while in lucid dreams to progress on my spiritual journey, and I've been blessed with visions and messages that are indescribable. The following is from my own analyses and experience.
So, what you have to understand is that everything in a lucid dream is 100% happening. Which is very scary, but also an opportunity not many people get. These aren't 'given' to people until they reach a certain phase on their spiritual / theological journey. It's a test with real demons and all the awful things that accompany them. BUT! It's not an attachment in 'real life.' It's more of a prove that you actually mean what you profess to mean. Essentially, a put up or shut up, situation.
This is the time to embody the emotion of what you profess on your journey. You are the embodied spirit of life and love and desire to live for God and you get to radiate that feeling, that power, that force, against whatever it is that is attacking you. Become it, fill your whole body up with it, RADIATE it out at the demon. It is LIGHT coming from your body and it is what destroys the demon. Because it IS attacking you. And sometimes it can be powerful enough to manifest in the room with you while you dream, and while you're awake, which is even more terrifying but winning that battle has led to the most amazing experiences of my waking and dreaming lives. The last, most recent battle, the demon physically pulled me down and nearly off the bed.
The physical manifestation doesn't always happen and if it does, it is at the end. The final battle with that demon for that element of your faith. Ask for the protection of God as you battle. One of the simple prayers that I said over and over, both asleep and in the room with the demon was, "Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so." And along with that I would ask God to protect me. It was terrifying, but I NEVER doubted my passion and love, and I NEVER doubted God's protection and love.
Congratulations on your progress on your journey!! This is a gift that not many will ever receive. If you have any questions please reach out. You're not alone, on this plane or the others.
