I'm in the same denomination as the overseeing church, a pastor lost his 9 year old daughter at that school on that day, suddenly and somehow. The loss and grief in this community is real.

When I heard the news about it, my heart dropped for two reasons, (a) myself having kids around this age I am aching for the surviving family, and (b) I knew that the community here would immediately put out the narrative that it didn't actually happen and no one actually died. Predictable.
